Flushed Away
is a rip-thriving nautical adventure with a fun twist: the two main characters are… a pair of rodents! Together they will brave the London sewers, in search of “home”. Roddy (voiced by Emmy award winner actor Hugh Jackman) is eager to go home after he was flushed down the sewers and enlistsĀ  Rita (voiced by Kate Winslet) to help him in his quest. But trouble is on the way, namely the Toad (voiced by McKellen) and the French mercenary Le Frog (voiced by actor Jean Reno).

Flushed Away is a part of the good family movies. For one, we have to aknowledge the talent of the cast voiceover. Jean Reno is a real delight to listen to, and as he always does, brings a lot of fun to the movie. Flushed Away has a very distinctive look as it is a joint production between DreamWorks Animation and Aardman Features. The special effects and the graphics are beautiful, such as floodwaters rushing through the sewers and an entire city of small animated characters. “Flushed Away” is a crazy exciting ride filled with inside jokes.

This movie is part of the good family movies because it can be equally be enjoyed by the kids and their parents. Adults and children will find their share of laugh and comedy. Cute and creative, “Flushed Away” is a great addition to your DVD collection and a great present idea.

The big bonus feature of the DVD is the singing slugs, who are with no doubt, the stars of this DVD. You will find additional music videos featuring the singing slugs. You will see how an Aardman animator builds (you and the kids will be impressed!) a slug out of plasticine, and a lecture on how to draw Roddy. Music, games, commentaries and 21 online accessible games are all excellent features of the DVD.
